Outside Backlund's steam train station, Benson guarded his sister and his wallet with practiced ease and found the exit without trouble.
Suddenly, they both felt someone's gaze sweep over them.
Following it, Benson and Melissa saw a young gentleman wearing gold-rimmed glasses.
The gentleman touched the brim of his top hat. His gaze passed over them and settled on another young man beside them before he brushed past and entered the station.
Melissa instinctively followed his gaze to the brown-haired young man with curly hair who had been walking alongside them. He looked familiar. Then she remembered where she had seen him—in the newspaper!
