Emlyn, the Moon, was baffled. Rose Redemption, Angel of Fate, breaking the cycle, Gear Book—none of it fell within his knowledge. He understood every word on its own, but put together, they meant nothing to him.

Weren't they just talking about Demigods? How had Angels suddenly entered the picture? Had the Sun, who looked so young, escaped from an Angel with Mr. Fool's guidance?

Emlyn pieced together a guess from the little he understood.

Derrick held nothing back. He recounted his expeditions with his companions from the City of Silver, just as in the original story, and repeated everything Jack, the little boy from Enmat Harbor, had said during the various cycles.

The other Tarot Club members, apart from the Moon and the Tower, were both curious and worried. They wondered how the Forsaken Land of the Gods connected to the ordinary world and feared that the all-consuming darkness around the City of Silver might keep spreading until it engulfed the Northern and Southern Continents and the five oceans.
