Abner had long been prepared for a showdown.

In fact, if Klein hadn't been so weak and inexperienced early on, unable to keep the secret safe, Abner might not have hidden the truth from him when he first entered Sefirah Castle.

After all, Abner hadn't known how the Gods—especially the Goddess—would regard a true Transmigrator like him.

But once he discovered that many Transmigrators like himself had been brought here by the Pure White Eye, and that the Goddess, Lilith, and the God of Knowledge had long known about them and even held a measure of goodwill toward them, there was little point in keeping it from Klein.

The only reason he had never taken the initiative to come clean was that he couldn't bear to give up the "fun" of the Tarot Club...

Later, Abner had barely bothered to cover his tracks. He had even been perfunctory about it much of the time. That was probably how Klein had noticed something was off.

Coming clean wasn't the problem. The only question now was how much to reveal.

Klein will probably acknowledge me as a fellow countryman through "the World"—as Klein, Sherlock, and Gehrman. But he'll most likely keep his identity as "the Fool" under wraps...

There's no need for me to expose that, either... If I do, knowing that "the Fool" is actually a weakling will make it harder for me to casually call on his powers.

I'll also have to keep the truth about his "transmigration" to myself for now. It wouldn't do for Mr. Fool to develop a psychological problem already... And I certainly can't tell him where I really came from...

I can reveal more about other things, though. I just can't sound too much like some all-knowing oracle.
