"Catch your eyes with Electroweb! Who's that? It's Iono! Everyone~ are you~ ready~? It's battle time!"
"Gengar!"
"Bellibolt!"
Bellibolt and Shiny Gengar bounced around on either side of the lively Iono like backup dancers, wriggling with wild abandon.
Beep.
The recording ended.
Iono crouched on the floor, catching her breath. She turned and gave Gengar an approving thumbs-up. "You're a natural!"
"Geh-heh-heh!"
Gengar looked immensely pleased with himself.
All three turned to look at Baimu nearby.
While they had been bursting with energy, he had remained perfectly composed, making him seem completely out of place.
Iono didn't mind. Things had looked much the same when she'd filmed with Grusha before.
She was just curious. How could a trainer and his Pokémon have such different personalities...
And still grow stronger together?
After all, the better partners' personalities matched, the faster they grew and the more they could bring out their strength in battle.
Oh, well!
No point dwelling on it!
Iono watched the finished video and giggled to herself. She could already picture her follower count leaping like an Eelektross over a waterfall—
"Iono!"
Snap, snap!
Two snaps of the fingers broke her train of thought.
Baimu looked down at Iono, who was still crouched in a little heap. "It's about time. Are you feeding me?"
"You're getting Iono's super-duper special Sandwich!"
She smiled, revealing a gleaming row of sharklike teeth.
In the Paldea Region, the Submarine Sandwich was a wildly popular local specialty, much like Galar's curry.
It was long and narrow, sliced lengthwise to make room for ingredients and seasonings, then cut crosswise after assembly to make it easier to eat.
Because it was so easy to make, it was a favorite among travelers.
The competitions and picnic culture that had sprung up around it amazed many visiting trainers.
