The Fourth-Dimensional Pocket was quiet.
The three wore simple respirators, their voices muffled as they spoke.
"I can't believe Chairman Rose would do something like this. He's such a great man..."
Raihan stood before the unconscious Rose, looking baffled.
Leon's expression was grim. He could understand Rose's intentions, but not his actions.
Why the rush?
Galar's economy was still growing. Dynamax kept drawing tourists from around the world, and that unique advantage could keep Galar thriving for another century!
What could have driven Rose to endanger the people of Galar in his haste to revive Eternatus?
Leon hated to think that the man who had helped him had lost his mind.
Baimu patted his shoulder. "Things happen. All we can do is accept it. The fighting outside should be over by now. Let's get out first."
With the Cover Gods and the Noble leading the charge, backed by a host of Pokémon including Champions' aces, how could Eternatus hold out without time to absorb more Galar Particles and fully recover?
Raihan and Leon nodded and searched for an exit.
"This looks like—"
"Why is there junk everywhere—"
Before either could finish, a pitch-black opening appeared beneath their feet, and they fell through.
The world spun around them.
They landed back in Hammerlocke Stadium, but the thick, foglike dust forced them to keep their oxygen masks on.
"Charizard!"
"Duraludon!"
Both called for their Pokémon.
Whoosh!
A gust swept through.
An invisible hand seemed to push the haze aside, and Charizard reached Leon first.
Miraidon and some of the other Pokémon followed.
But Raihan's Duraludon still hadn't returned, and several of Baimu's Pokémon were missing too.
"Duraludon!"
Raihan shouted and charged into the haze. He soon discovered why.
The floor had caved in!
Before the three of them yawned a bottomless pit.
