Dragon Village.
It lay at the northern edge of Unova, quite close to Vertress City, where the conference was held.
It was a rustic village much like Kitakami.
In Pokémon the Series: Black & White, Ash and his companions had stopped by Iris's hometown on their way to the Vertress Conference.
They had witnessed a Zweilous evolve with their own eyes.
The car stopped outside the village.
Baimu and the two members of Unova's Elite Four got out one after another and took in the bustling sight of Dragon Village.
Among the buildings, the beige nomadic tents of every size stood out most. They mingled with modern brick houses, yet the result was unexpectedly harmonious and beautiful.
For its long-awaited festival, Dragon Village was decked out in decorations. People and Pokémon filled the country lanes, with Dragon types especially common.
Dragon cries rose and fell like music.
The market was already set up.
Its stalls sold local specialties and all manner of dragon-related goods.
"So this is Dragon Village..."
Baimu paused to look around. Beside him, Hydreigon studied the place that was at once familiar and strange.
Their heads turned in exactly the same direction, even tilting at the same angle.
Grimsley saw it and smiled.
"How about we split up?"
He made the suggestion and gave Shauntal a look.
Shauntal caught on. "Sounds good! I'd like to interview the new Champion, Miss Iris!"
She had already gathered plenty of material from Baimu on the way here. She certainly didn't want to delay his business any further.
The trio parted ways for the time being.
Grimsley wandered off humming, looking for someone to gamble with. The festival battles hadn't begun, but a game of poker would do.
