But an orange-red glow soon followed. Its Download Ability had activated, boosting a stat based on which of Krookodile's defenses was weaker—

A visible Sandstorm rose from beneath Krookodile's feet and blanketed the entire field in an instant.
The spectators hurried back to keep sand out of their eyes.
Sandstorm was also the least spectator-friendly weather. Not only could it reach the crowd, it made the Pokémon battle impossible to watch properly.

Porygon2's eyes glimmered. Its smooth skin grew rough from within, and its red-and-blue coloring faded to a sandy yellow-brown.
The toy duck had become a sand-sculpture duck of the Ground type.
Rock and Steel types were also immune to Sandstorm. Rock would boost its Special Defense, but against a physical attacker that favored Ground-type moves, that could easily backfire.
Steel had the same problem, without even offering a boost. It would only give the opponent a type advantage for free.
Even after changing types, Porygon2's view remained blocked by the impenetrable Sandstorm. It could hardly see where its opponent was.
Krookodile, on the other hand, had eyes that worked like magnifying glasses. It was said to spot things at great distances even in a Sandstorm.
The enemy could see it, but it couldn't see the enemy. A terrible position!
