Batlthas wanted it to use Roost, but Taunt was still in effect. Besides, it had to land before it could use the move.
And against Baimu, the slightest hesitation would give Okidogi time to launch another Ice Punch.
Batlthas was certain of it.
Fortunately, there was still a way through.
Seeing its opponent climb out of reach, Okidogi stuck out its tongue. The fierce-looking Pokémon clutched its chest and panted hard, plainly exhausted.
It was far from healthy.
Boosted by Aerilate, Double-Edge had become a far more powerful Flying-type attack that struck Okidogi's weakness. The damage was staggering.
Even though Okidogi had used Bulk Up to raise its Physical Defense beforehand, pain still tore through its chest and belly.
It was glad it had kept training hard ever since it woke up. All that work had paid off.

It couldn't help cursing under its breath.
It had wanted to handle the entire battle for its boss. Now, taking down two opponents would be a good result.

Okidogi answered Baimu's voice with a loud howl.
It might not match Pokémon like Galarian Corsola, but Okidogi was a rare Legendary Pokémon with seventy-five levels behind it. Surviving one Double-Edge wasn't unreasonable.
From what Baimu had seen, Legendary and Mythical Pokémon both seemed to have an extra boost to their stats, like elite enemies and bosses in a game.
Their levels alone couldn't fully explain their strength.
On the other side, Ice Punch had failed to finish Mega Salamence even after Okidogi had raised its attack twice and Mega Salamence had taken recoil from Double-Edge.
Batlthas really had grown stronger. Wally hadn't lost to him for nothing.
"I hope that's not all you've got," Baimu murmured.
