So tough!
Diantha frowned.
But Close Combat wasn't a move Tyrantrum shared a type with, and without any additional boost, it naturally fell short of the Giga Impact from moments ago.
Not a problem.
Protect couldn't be used consecutively. As long as Tyrantrum could close the distance to Blissey, it could defeat her in close combat.
"An all-out assault from the moment it enters! The might of the ancient world! These are Champion Diantha's Ancient Pokémon!"
Pachira dutifully introduced Tyrantrum.
Diantha's main team had a rather unusual makeup: it included two Fossil Pokémon.
In other words, Diantha had started using them within a couple of years of the Fossil Revival Machine's invention, when she had only just become a Trainer.
She had since raised them all the way to Champion Ace level.
Back then, research into Fossil Pokémon was nowhere near as thorough as it was now. No one knew what moves they could learn or how best to train them.
It went to show that Diantha's talent as a Trainer was the real deal.
Following the example set by Trainers like her, most Trainers in the Pokémon World ignored a Pokémon's natural strength when raising it. At most, they cared about rarity.
Unlike in Baimu's previous life—
"Hey, expert, is this Pokémon strong? Is it worth training?"
"Doesn't seem as good as... a Pseudo-Legendary Pokémon!"
Of course, playing a game and actually devoting time and effort to raising one were hardly comparable.
On the field.
The Protect barrier before Blissey faded. Towering over her, Tyrantrum raised one broad foot without hesitation.
"Roar!"
"Happy—"
Blissey swiftly changed moves, switching from her planned Minimize to Telekinesis.
But no elemental light appeared around Tyrantrum's raised foot, either. It flashed a vicious grin and lunged forward with its massive jaws wide open!
