Boom!!
A thunderous crash shook all of Mt. Coronet.
Countless Wild Pokémon looked up in terror, only to see a silver streak pierce the daylight like a spear of judgment cast down by God.
The rock beneath Mt. Coronet's ancient ice and snow crumbled like a thin sheet. The force of Heavy Slam made the ground seem to melt, sending scorching stones hurtling into the forests at the mountain's foot in a storm of impacts.
Trunks and branches shattered. Beneath a towering column of smoke, packs of Wild Pokémon fled screaming from the ravine as though the end of the world had come.
Freed from the confines of a reinforced arena, Mega Giant Steelix's destructive power far exceeded anything most people could imagine.
And its attack did not end with that one impact.
Deep underground, Mega Giant Steelix drove forward at full power.
"Roar!!"
It bored through the mountain like a runaway tunnel-boring machine. Even the hardest earth broke apart before it, crushed outward or thrown behind by its rotating steel ribs.
Mt. Coronet kept shaking. Small avalanches and landslides struck some areas, but Calyrex's psychic field covered the entire mountain, and no Wild Pokémon were hurt.
"Baimu—"
Calyrex broke off. Baimu was on the phone.
"Mm-hmm. I'll have it sorted out soon."
"I know. Don't worry, it'll be fine."
"What's that noise? Nothing much. I'm digging through a mountain with a tunnel-boring machine! Which mountain? Mt. Coronet, of course."

The call ended.
Baimu let out a quiet breath.
The caller had been Shan Ren. The space-time anomaly had spread across the globe, and so many trainers' Pokémon in Orre were behaving abnormally that the Pokémon Centers were packed.
With the Masters Eight about to begin, Shan Ren had called specifically to check whether Baimu had been affected too.
