Something in the sky?
Baimu and Brandon looked up together, but saw only the bright moon and dim stars.
As they puzzled over it, Regigigas raised both arms.
"Re! Gi! Gi! Gas!"
It let out a roar louder than any before. Its golden claws clenched, filling the air with an unnerving crackling sound.
Pale golden cracks suddenly appeared and spread toward the heavens.
Boom!
The "moon" exploded!
A twisted black cloud slowly emerged and covered the entire island. A dense, ominous aura seeped from it.
Baimu and Brandon stared. Baimu could hardly believe spacetime rifts kept appearing in Sinnoh, while Brandon looked deep in thought.
"Re... gi... gi... gas..."
Regigigas turned its massive body, as if trying to tell them something.
Only after Regirock and the Porygon Phone relayed and translated its words did Baimu learn that the black cloud above was not the spacetime rift he had thought it was.
"An entrance to another world?"
"Yes. And it seems we can't enter it directly. Regigigas can't, at least, so it says it can't help."
As the Porygon Phone explained, it kept checking with Regirock until it had a definite answer.
The cloud looked like a passage between two worlds, but in practice it resembled a Spirit World Entrance. Some special "ritual" was needed to pass through.
Brandon spoke up. "It probably leads to another dimension. Some sort of special world entirely separate from reality."
As an archaeologist and explorer, he had entered bizarre worlds unlike reality more than once. Each time, he had escaped the danger within.
In that field, he was an expert!
Brandon turned to Baimu. "If I had to guess, it's probably the Dream World created by the Darkrai that abducted you and Cynthia."
"Do we have to fall asleep right here?"
