Baimu never knew the meaning of holding back when teaching battles.
Even though the opponent had been raising Pokémon for less than a month and belonged to a rookie Trainer as green as they come.
Under his guidance, Hisuian Zorua easily secured a victory, which caused its self-confidence to swell rapidly.
"Awoo!"
Battles weren't even that hard!
Wasn't this much easier than exercising?
The chubby fox lifted its head proudly, figuring it could endure this kind of thing no matter how many times it happened.
Could it really endure it?
Soon enough, Hisuian Zorua received a rude awakening.
Because after restarting the battle, Baimu didn't let it attack ferociously anymore, repeatedly making it wait in place instead.
This resulted in it not only getting pierced by Dartrix's quills, but also slashed multiple times by Dewott's shells, hurting so much that it scrambled all over the field.
Hisuian Zorua tried to attack several times, but Baimu stopped it with a stern voice each time.
"Don't move, I haven't given the command yet."
"Wuwu..."
The chubby fox was baffled and aggrieved, its eye corners rapidly pooling with tears.
This little expression made both pairs of opponents feel somewhat unbearable, leaving them feeling as though they had committed some unforgivable deed.
Aiden couldn't help himself. "Headmaster..."
"Can't you tell this is Fake Tears?" Baimu said, as if he hadn't noticed.
Aiden was stunned. "Fake Tears? But it's--"
Before he could finish, a glow indicating lowered stats lit up on the surfaces of both Dartrix and Dewott, as if mocking the softhearted Aiden and Kou.
It really was Fake Tears!
Fake Tears, a Dark-type status move, lowers the target's Special Defense.
However, Hisuian Zorua's tears were actually real; it genuinely felt aggrieved, while Fake Tears was a new move it had stumbled into using.
