Dragon Rush

Back at the Pokémon Center.

Baimu gave both Aggron that had fought a checkup, then eagerly found a secluded spot to start learning Dragon Rush.

As a powerful Dragon-type move, it dealt heavy damage but was less accurate. It also hit opponents that had used Minimize twice as hard and had a chance to make them flinch.

Normally, the move was used by Dragon-type Pokémon capable of flight.

Baimu had rarely seen a Dragon-type Pokémon that could not fly use it in the anime, so he was curious to see how the wild Aggron would pull it off.

"You can start!"

He called out to the wild Aggron.

"Grrroar!"

The wild Aggron answered with a low growl, then glanced at its larger counterpart. A terrifying presence surged from it, as though it meant to tear everything before it apart.

The two horns on its head lit up blue. An instant later, a pale-blue aura enveloped its entire body and rapidly expanded outward!

"Roar!"

The wild Aggron roared and charged. The pale-blue aura swelled into the huge, savage head of an energy dragon that wrapped around its body. As it tore through the air, it let out a sound like a fearsome roar!

Boom!

With nothing to strike, the energy dragon's head exploded.

And that was the whole sequence.

The move had not lifted it off the ground. It had simply run forward and launched an energy-charged impact, much like Giga Impact.

Compared with the Dragon Rush Baimu remembered, it seemed to be missing wings and a body. Probably because the Aggron had no wings and had never taken flight?

That was worth looking into.

The key was understanding the sequence needed to use the move. Once a Pokémon grasped that, the underlying principles mattered far less.
