If Aggron's hard-won grasp of Dragon-type energy, and its progress to the point where it could gather that energy around its head, was cause for celebration, then Deino's performance was a complete shock.

"Comparisons are cruel. It's a Dragon-type Pokémon, after all. Don't take it too hard."

Baimu tried to comfort Aggron.

In front of them, Deino charged back and forth across the field like a mad dog. Indigo Dragon-type energy surged over its body from time to time, forming a ferocious dragon's head.

"Deiino—"

"Deiino, deiino—"

The little guy was like a schoolkid who had just learned to ride a bike, calling out nonstop to get Baimu to watch its new move.

"Amazing! You're incredible! Deino, you're so strong!"

Baimu could only keep answering. The little blind dragon couldn't see clearly; unless he spoke, it had no way of knowing whether its trainer was watching.

"Deiino!"

Hearing his encouragement, Deino grew even more excited.

Aggron, meanwhile, felt a little put out. Why weren't you this quick when you learned Dragon Pulse, huh?

You learn Dragon Rush, and now you're showing me up?

No. I'm the Trump Card. I need to carry myself like one.

Aggron kept its irritation firmly in check. On the surface, it remained steady and calm, nothing like the ferocious Pokémon many people imagined.

The wild Aggron looked baffled. It glanced at Deino, which was bouncing around like an overexcited husky, then at Baimu's beaming face, then—

Better not look. Feels like one wrong glance and I'll be picking a fight.

It might not have been well educated, but it knew better than to provoke someone in a bad mood, especially when that someone was stronger than it was.

"All right, all right. That's enough for today."

Baimu called a halt to Deino's frenzied charging.
