There were plenty of moves Baimu wanted Porygon to learn.

Trick Room was undoubtedly one of the most important. It could make up for his team's generally low speed.

But honestly, Trick Room saw far less use in Single Battles than in Double Battles in the games. Setting it up, switching out its user, and bringing in an attacker all took time. That whole process was too slow for the brisk pace of a three-on-three Single Battle.

If an opponent predicted what you were doing, that was enough time for them to set up and sweep your team.

Priority moves also took precedence over speed. Sometimes, even after you set up Trick Room, your opponent still attacked first.

All things considered, Trick Room teams were rather difficult to use in three-on-three Single Battles.

But that was how things worked in the games.

There was much more to consider in the anime world. Moves were no longer limited to four slots. Hoenn's Pokémon Gym challenges and Pokémon League tournaments included Double Battles, as well as full six-on-six Single Battles.

That gave Trick Room far more room to shine than it had in a three-on-three game battle.

Porygon could also learn more attacking moves, letting it switch between setting up Trick Room and attacking. Porygon2's offensive power wasn't especially high, but it wasn't low, either.

"Hyper Beam comes after evolution... So, Trick Room, Psychic, Thunderbolt, Ice Beam, Hidden Power... No Nasty Plot? Looks like Porygon and Porygon2 can't learn it."

Baimu flipped through Porygon's learnable moves, already eager to command it in a Pokémon battle.

Its opponent would, of course, be Chansey.

When it came to endurance and recovery, no one dared claim to surpass Chansey. She was the perfect training partner.
