Appearance

Aron has a dark-gray, armored body, blue eyes, and a mask-like head. Its body is marked by several black holes, and it is approximately the size of a Border Collie. Aron measured 47 cm tall and weighed 50 kg when examined at a Pokémon Center. 4 12

Personality

Aron is cautious, observant, and unusually intelligent. During the mine assessment, it avoided attacking Baimu, concealed itself in a hole, and later followed him after deciding that he was safe. It understood Baimu’s explanations and accepted a request to rescue injured participants in exchange for iron. 5 6

Its early caution stems from abandonment and mistreatment by a former Trainer. Aron feared Poké Balls and initially fled when Baimu tried to ask whether it had a Trainer. Despite this fear, it continued following Baimu and later risked itself to protect him. 7 8

Aron is fiercely loyal and protective. It repeatedly placed itself between Baimu or Chansey and stronger opponents, including Donphan, Machamp, Mightyena, and Bewear. Mine Encounter and Partnership

Aron first appears in the abandoned mine used for the Quicksand Team’s recruitment assessment. It approaches Baimu without attacking, hides from the Vibrava patrolling the tunnels, and later follows him. Baimu earns its cooperation by offering iron and asking it to rescue injured participants. 4 6

When Aron becomes frightened by a Poké Ball, Baimu realizes that it may have been abandoned or mistreated. Aron nevertheless follows Baimu during the escape and later attacks Rhyhorn to protect him. After Aron is buried and badly injured, Baimu turns back into the collapsing mine and promises, “I came to get you.” 7 9

At the hospital, Aron accepts Baimu as its partner by placing its paw in his hand. 10

Recovery and Early Training

Aron is found to be malnourished, underweight, and covered in damaged metal plating, despite having previously received careful training. Baimu chooses money instead of another Pokémon reward so he can feed and rehabilitate it. 11 12
