Bidding Farewell to Friends

After four long days of training,

Aggron finally learned the Egg Move Dragon Rush, adding another weapon to its arsenal.

With that,

the wild Aggron's part was done.

When Baimu took it home, it was clearly reluctant to part ways. A little thought made it obvious what it would miss.

"These are for you. They keep pretty well, but make them last. Who knows when I'll be back?"

He handed the wild Aggron jar after jar of Pokéblocks.

The wild Aggron's eyes filled with tears, but it clutched the jars tight. If it didn't eat iron, the glass containers probably wouldn't have survived long.

"Until we meet again. Take care."

Baimu patted the wild Aggron on the forehead and waved goodbye.

It tried to wave back, but lost its grip on a jar and dropped it. By the time it had scrambled to pick it up and raised its head again, Baimu was gone.

It looked at the clear stream and the empty cave. Thinking back on the past few days, it felt strangely lonely.

But the feeling passed as quickly as it had come. Its territorial instincts took over, and it began patrolling its domain. After so many days away, unfamiliar footprints marked the ground.

Wild Pokémon had definitely been scouting its territory.

The wild Aggron was ready to defend it to the death.

Meanwhile,

Baimu took a winding path to Sableye's den and ran into Sableye just as it returned from farther away.

"Yami? Yami!"

"It's me, all right."

Smiling, he caught the excited Sableye as it leaped at him and stroked its oddly textured skin. "I'm leaving soon, so I came to see you before I go. I brought you something, too."
