Iris saw Baimu's slight frown and hurried to explain. "I was only guessing. You prepared food specifically for Dragon-type Pokémon, and you smell like a Dragon-type Pokémon, too..."

Then again, Iris had been one of the first characters in the anime to show a passionate love for Dragon-type Pokémon. She could even share their fear of the cold, and had once chased Rayquaza all the way to Hoenn after seeing it fly across the sky.
A little trick like this was hardly surprising. Besides, it was far from her only talent.

Baimu had no intention of hiding anything. The frown had simply been an unconscious habit while he thought. He raised a hand and opened a Poké Ball.
"Sasah!"
Hydreigon appeared. His huge, dark body carried an almost intimidating weight that immediately caught the attention of one irritable Dragonite. Dragonite's face twisted into a scowl.
But his trainer reacted faster.
"Ah! Hydreigon! What an adorable little guy!"
Iris put down her spoon and bowl, then threw herself against Hydreigon. Beaming, she rubbed her cheeks against his fluffy neck and chest. "So fluffy! So soft! And you smell wonderful! I knew that scent came from you!"
"Sasah?"
Hydreigon was usually the one rubbing against other people. Now he stood at a loss, staring at her before turning to his trainer.
"Sa-sasah!"
H-help!
Baimu gave him a helpless look and watched in silence.
Then, suddenly—
The dragon-crazy girl lifted her head and stared blankly at Hydreigon. With no idea what was happening, he grew even more awkward and could not bring himself to meet her eyes.
After a while, she broke into a smile. "You're such a sweet boy. You keep thinking about how much you love your trainer. How adorable!"
