"The signal came from offshore near Rustboro City. It was faint, but we detected it." As he spoke, his gaze flicked between Baimu and Steven. "Its energy signature and waveform match the readings we collected from the stone."
The news delighted many of those present. Baimu only looked pleased, while worry showed plainly on Mairin's face.
The girl had seen what happened earlier. She understood how dangerous the search for the Legendary Stone could be.
The shockwaves from the Super-Ancient Pokémon's moves alone had sent everyone scrambling for cover. Even Alain, whom she thought so strong, and Champion Steven had been forced to defend themselves.
She was deeply worried about Alain, who was so intent on helping Lysandre.
But Mairin knew no one would listen to her. After exchanging a worried look with Chespin, she decided to stay by Alain's side.

He had asked an elder of Meteor Village about it. The elder had explicitly said he was free to keep searching and had even given him a lead. Now that he had finally found it, they wanted it back? That was a little unfair, though he could hardly object.
"Honestly, the Draconids aren't the real issue. Shiny Rayquaza is interested in the Legendary Stone too. If it gets hold of it, do you expect me to pry it out of its jaws?"
