"Totem! The totem's glowing!"
Hoopa stared at the Space-Time Wristband pendant in shock.
That thing normally lit up only when the residents of the Valley of Origin used their powers, and Ghris clearly hadn't done anything.
What was going on?
Balza and Meray looked just as stunned as Hoopa.
They quickly turned toward Baimu, who was standing still. He looked briefly puzzled, then recovered and asked, "What's wrong?"
So it wasn't because of him?
Meray turned back to Ghris. "Great-grandfather—"
"Shh."
A gentle smile touched Ghris's lips. "The Valley of Origin is welcoming a guest. Listen closely. You have to feel their voices with your heart."
Whoosh—
A nameless breeze swept through.
Nearby treetops rustled. Golden wheat rippled in the wind, the river rushed beneath the bridge, Fletchling chirped as they flew overhead, and countless Wild Pokémon poked out their heads in curiosity.
Peaceful. Serene.
Warmth filled everyone's hearts.
Balza and Meray each raised a hand. Bands of colorful light rose from their palms and formed spirals, pulsing like life itself.
"Nature... it's so lively!"
"I've never felt anything like it!"
They exchanged looks of surprise and delight.
Though the Valley of Origin's powers came from Arceus, they worked by resonating with nature. With practice, its people could even directly manipulate Arceus's Source of Life—the Type Plates.
Ghris had created the Prison Bottle using the water, fire, and ground Sources of Life.
When necessary, they could also borrow the elemental powers of Pokémon.
Hoopa circled the bands of light in their hands and cried excitedly, "Amazing! Amazing! Hoopa can feel it too!"
"All right, don't neglect our guest."
Ghris patted the siblings on the shoulders, then said to Hoopa, "You too. Our guest came at our invitation, so we should take good care of him."
"Take good care of him?"
