At dusk.
On the outskirts of Slateport City.
Asahi and Baimu returned to the base without incident and found Kieran talking with Doctor Hodaka.
"Kieran! You're back already."

The two greeted him with smiles.
But as the only tracker whose target had escaped, Kieran casually glanced at their waists, then nodded a silent greeting.
He wasn't particularly competitive, but being the only one of the three who had failed to catch his target, Regirock, made the tracker with the best record look rather unprofessional.

Excitement filled Doctor Hodaka's voice. "It's a bold hypothesis, and we'll have to test it carefully. I'm sorry to ask this when you've only just returned, but we need to act quickly!"
"Understood!"
Asahi answered immediately.
Of course she wouldn't refuse. Finding Mew, the Pokémon said to be the ancestor of all Pokémon, was their original goal.
The three Legendary Giants couldn't compare.
Baimu looked at the image on the screen. He knew Doctor Hodaka would probably come back empty-handed this time.
According to the original story, fierce winds and rain clouds battered Border Island year-round, making a normal landing almost impossible.
The sky cleared only briefly during a very short dry spell each year. That was why Doctor Hodaka had launched the Mew
