If Baimu wanted a Z-Ring, he had to supply the raw material himself.
But where was he supposed to find one? Lana had only found hers with Stoutland because she'd been incredibly lucky.
Seeing him frown, Hala assumed he didn't know what a Sparkling Stone was and said:
"The Sparkling Stone must come from Melemele Island. As for how you gather information or where you obtain it, you can use any method you like, provided you don't break the law."
There was no doubt about it.
This search tested an Island Challenge participant's resourcefulness, unlike the ordinary trials where defeating a Totem Pokémon was enough to pass.
Baimu couldn't help wondering whether Hala had set this trial because he knew Baimu's true strength.

Maybe he was overthinking it.
"There's no time limit on the Island Challenge. If you don't have a lead yet, there's no need to rush. Take your time. Keep a sincere heart free of ill intent, and the guardian deity will guide you."
Hala offered that as a word of advice.
