Bewear slowly ate the Shining Cuisine, then suddenly pinched off a small piece and held it to Baimu's mouth.
"Gwoo, gwoo."
"I ate before I came."
He hurriedly declined.
So Bewear turned to Hydreigon beside him and held out its paw. "Gwoo, gwoo?"
"Sha-sah."
Hydreigon turned its head away. It only ate food its trainer gave it.
Bewear didn't get upset when neither of them wanted any. It calmly chewed one bite at a time.
The Shining Cuisine really did taste good. To Bewear, it was only a little less delicious than its usual favorite, Honey. Once it finished eating, Bewear planned to find Team Rocket, who had slipped away, and let them try some too.
But just as it set down the empty box,
Baimu spoke.
"I need to tell you something. Please don't panic."
He gripped his phone. With Meowth absent, he needed his old translator, Porygon2, again.
Bewear looked curious. "Gwoo, gwoo?"

He asked cautiously.

Baimu looked Bewear straight in the eyes, ignoring the throbbing pain in his shoulder. "I might know where your child is. Let's go bring it home together."
He had underestimated a mother's pain at losing her child, and how deeply she missed it.
Almost the instant he finished speaking, Bewear scooped him into a bridal carry and charged into the forest, snapping whole swaths of trees in moments.
