The commentator sounded utterly incredulous.
Many spectators still hadn't recovered.
It had all happened too fast.
Dracovish had returned to the field and charged at Shiny Gengar with Aqua Jet, boosted by the rain. Lightning had engulfed them both, yet failed to stop them from flying out of the arena.
And somehow, that had decided the match.
Or perhaps the spectators simply couldn't accept that Nessa had lost to Baimu so easily. At least the first half had involved some back-and-forth!
How had things suddenly gone downhill like a flood bursting through a dam?
The crowd had no doubt who was to blame for this match—
Pelipper!
The weather setter had summoned rain to benefit its own side, only to help the enemy land a decisive blow. Without the rain, Thunder could never have struck so quickly or accurately.
Of course, Pelipper's quadruple weakness to Electric-type attacks had played a major part. Dracovish was weak to them too, not to mention absurdly fragile.
Nearly all of its roughly five hundred base stat points had gone into Attack and Speed. Naturally, there wasn't much left for its defenses.
But compared with the spectators,
Nessa knew better that the fault lay with her. She had chosen Pelipper, hoping the rain would further dilute the poisonous sludge in the pool. She had also wanted it to activate Dracovish's Swift Swim, then combine that with Aqua Jet for an even greater burst of speed.
She wanted Dracovish to move faster still!
She had believed that, if it was fast enough, its excellent Physical Attack could bring down Gengar in midair. Dodging once didn't mean Gengar could dodge twice.
Dracovish's defenses were thin, but
