Good news: the dragon that had run away from home had brought back a horse.
Bad news: the horse was charging straight at him.
"Whoa—"
The horse's cry was shrill.
Before Baimu could say anything to Dragapult, Spectrier sprang forward. His graceful body glided over the heads of Glastrier and Calyrex.
A breeze stirred his soft, pale-purple mane, making him look magnificent.
In the blink of an eye,
Spectrier was standing before Baimu, barely a meter away.
"Graah."
Aggron moved protectively in front of his trainer. Hydreigon struggled to rise too, glaring at the newcomer whose intentions were unknown.
Dragapult arrived a little later, mainly because he couldn't brazenly fly over Glastrier and Calyrex the way Spectrier had.
He looked eagerly at his trainer, ready to claim credit, only to sense the tension in the air.
"D-dree?"
Dragapult lowered his voice in fright and vanished on the spot.
"My beloved—"
Calyrex was delighted to see his second beloved steed again. But before he could call out to Spectrier, Glastrier's icy stare made him swallow the rest of his words.
My beloved steed!
That gleaming black coat!
That wild, galloping figure!
He hasn't changed a bit since we first met!
If only...
Calyrex finally understood what it meant to be at his wits' end. Had he regained his power, he could have subdued Glastrier through sheer strength, as he had in the past.
Now he had been backed into a corner.
My dear subject! Help me!
Use your invincible Poké Ball to put Glastrier away!
There had been a time when Calyrex had avoided Poké Balls at all costs. Right now, though, he desperately wanted Shallow Believer to use one to help him through this crisis.
Meanwhile,
Baimu held down the raging, helpless Hydreigon and gave Aggron a look.
"...Graah."
