"Grrr—"
Mega Aggron's low growl sounded like a death knell.
As it emerged slowly from the smoke, the black hole in the steel armor on its chest remained glaringly obvious. Yet the sight made Calyrex, atop Glastrier, terribly nervous.
"Wait!"
"No waiting!"
Baimu had no intention of letting such a rare opportunity slip away.
He had already resorted to a move outside the usual rules, so there was no point pretending to be a gentleman now. Besides, the Reins of Unity were on the verge of snapping. Things could still change.
What if Calyrex had some way to repair them?
Mega Aggron knew victory hinged on these few moments too. Steel-type energy swirled over its body, forming a gleaming silver film, and it charged at Calyrex like a tank!
Thud, thud, thud!
The open ground stretched before it.
The silver light sent rippling waves through the air!
Calyrex anxiously fumbled with Glastrier's thick, icicle-like mane.
The damaged section was near Glastrier's mouth, beyond the reach of Calyrex's little hands. Nor did it dare tug hard on the reins, terrified they would snap completely.
The flow of psychic energy was nowhere near as smooth as before, cutting in and out, but that was still better than nothing.
"Neigh!"
Glastrier wheeled around and fled toward Ballimere Lake, its hooves stirring a freezing current.
As billowing white mist spread, it turned into countless long, thick icicles that shot forward in a flash!
But this attack apparently lacked Calyrex's amplifying psychic power. The icicles could not slow Mega Aggron at all and shattered in an instant.
The distance between them shrank rapidly.
Calyrex had no choice but to use its psychic power to block the charge.
The bud atop its head lit up as though about to bloom. An invisible barrier blocked Mega Aggron's
