Raye nodded, then turned to the exhausted Dr. Ver for confirmation.
"No problem. The Linker I made is perfect. But ma'am, you really know how to work someone to the bone. Ahem. Your demands were outrageous."
Dark circles under his eyes, Dr. Ver forced himself to answer, then tried to lean back in his chair and rest.
He had spent ages in the lab making a Linker with the lowest possible risk. Before he had even had much chance to rest, Raye had ordered him onto the aircraft.
"You can't rest yet. You and Nastassja still need to monitor Kohinata Miku's condition afterward. Nastassja, how are you doing?"
After giving Dr. Ver his instructions, Raye turned to Nastassja in her wheelchair. Nastassja considered for a moment, then confirmed that she was fine.
"All right. We'll reach the Domain in about ten minutes. I've already dealt with the American ships nearby. If there are no problems, we'll begin as soon as we arrive."
Once she had confirmed everything and assigned the others in the cockpit their tasks, Raye thought it over one last time. Satisfied, she waited.
The Breaking Point
On the coast, a sea breeze swept through the crowd as the sun began its descent in the western sky.
"Commander, bad news. The American fleet above the waters marked 'Domain' in our intelligence was attacked just now."
They had only just exchanged information and reached an agreement when Shinji Ogawa brought this unwelcome news.
"That place... They've started moving. But we can't put together a force right now. We need more time."
Genjuro Kazanari understood what had happened. With their temporary headquarters destroyed, however, Second Division had no forces to spare to stop it.
"We can't just leave it alone, though. Make whatever preparations you can. Ogawa, contact the organizations
