"Please, come in." Aisha politely invited Green inside. He had just broken the little angel's illusion with his powerful mental power, making her see him in a new light. Her manner had grown friendlier, too. At Saint Tower Academy, strength meant status. Though Green had only just joined, neither his position nor the power he had displayed could be overlooked.
Green followed Aisha into the building. The instant he stepped through the door, a powerful mental force enveloped him.
Green was startled. Mental power that strong had to belong to someone of at least Legendary Rank. Fortunately, he soon realized that although it was powerful, it had no consciousness of its own. It was more like a computer. After a Legendary Mage died, someone had probably preserved the mage's brain by some means. Though the mage's consciousness had dissipated, its immense mental power remained. Implanted into the Magic Tower, it had become a semi-intelligent entity similar to a Tower Spirit, though not quite the same.
Green marveled inwardly. This world might not look technologically advanced, but by combining technology with supernatural powers, it had developed along a different path. In some respects, it was far ahead of Earth in his previous life.
The mental force held Green in its sights for a moment, making his skin crawl. He endured the discomfort until, a moment later, it released him.
