Sinai Alfred had mobilized the entire castle's army, and it seemed to have restored his confidence. A smug, self-assured smile spread across his enormous face.

With his confidence back, Sinai Alfred stopped shrieking hysterically. Instead, he adopted a show of humility, deliberately imitating a nobleman's courteous manner of speech.

Green studied him and replied evenly, "Oh? You call this place the Nightmare Kingdom? The name fits. It's quite a remarkable curio. So you didn't twist space and time—you twisted dreams to interfere with Martin Manor in the real world."

When Green had entered Martin Manor, he had encountered many temporal and spatial anomalies. At first, he had thought they were the effects of some eerie power that could distort space and time. He had never expected to come across a rare curio.

A curio, as the name suggested, was something wondrous and inexplicable.

Curios were exceedingly rare. Most Transcendents did not even know they existed; only a few ancient texts mentioned them.

There was no logic to their existence. Modern science could not explain them, nor could Transcendent arts or Theology.

Green had happened upon a few passages about curios in the Library during his last period of study at Saint Tower Academy. That was how he recognized, after entering the Nightmare Kingdom, that it was a Spatial World with its own distinct properties and laws, formed within a curio.

By now, Green had resolved to seize this curio at any cost.

This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. From his earlier probing, he had realized that Sinai Alfred, the curio's owner, was not particularly strong. Sinai was probably a Mid Formal Rank or High-Rank Medium who could command three Legendary experts only because he possessed the Nightmare Kingdom.
