Green had never encountered anything like this before. His heart tightened. "What's going on? Is something wrong with the graveyard?"
The thought flashed through his mind, and he immediately called upon the graveyard. Thankfully, nothing went wrong. He sensed its presence at once and could enter it through his Main Consciousness anytime, anywhere.
He also tried using the Summoning Spell. A portal to the graveyard opened immediately, allowing him to summon its undead creatures whenever he wished.
Green relaxed a little. As long as the graveyard was fine, that was what mattered. He looked around and was surprised to find his situation oddly familiar.
Frowning, Green examined his body.
Just as he had expected, it belonged to a boy in his teens, with smooth skin and fine clothes. Emblems resembling a family crest adorned his collar and cuffs; he was probably a young noble. But a fatal wound marked his chest. Some long, sharp weapon had pierced straight through it, severely damaging his heart. There was no way he could have survived.
It was so much like Green's own situation when he had been reborn!
As Green's awareness settled into the boy's corpse, a burst of excruciating pain came from the wound in his chest.
He frowned and immediately used Death Corruption on himself, swiftly turning the boy's corpse into a Lich.
A few minutes later, when the transformation was complete, the breath-stealing pain finally subsided.
Green let out a long breath. The pain had been piercing. Even as a Necromancer who knew how to endure—and even savor—pain, he had not wanted to bear it a moment longer.
