Green looked up in the direction the Legendary powerhouse had fled. That was toward the Royal Palace. Then he walked into the house.
The fighting inside had already ended. When Green entered, the Anomalies Bureau agents were clearing the scene. More than a dozen bodies lay sprawled across the spacious house, while three captives crouched in a corner with their hands over their heads.
Green stayed near the doorway. He activated the Eye of Spirit Sight and quickly detected powerful Psychic Energy fluctuations beneath the house.
Major Bolton hurried over, eager to please. "Sir, the basement entrance is over there. All the valuables are hidden down there, along with the rebels' trap. But we arrived early and caught them off guard. They didn't have time to activate it."
Green nodded. Through the Eye of Spirit Sight, he had already spotted the outlines of a Spatial Magic trap. Had he stepped into it unaware, the terrifying force of warped space would have torn him apart. Even if his body survived, he would have been transported to random, unknown Spatial Coordinates. Then it would all have come down to luck: he might have appeared a dozen meters away, or at the very edge of the Void World.
Unfortunately for the conspirators, Major Bolton had switched sides at the last moment. Their plans had come to nothing, and they had lost quite a few Spatial Magic specialists.
As Green entered, he gathered the souls of the dozen or so dead into the Nightmare Kingdom. Their fragmented memories told him they were Spatial Mages from Ruen, specifically sent by Sebolutes to set up the trap.
