Despite being prepared, Green frowned when he first saw his surroundings.
He sat in the corner of a dim room on a pile of filthy weeds that at least kept the damp ground from seeping through. A narrow square window above him, barred with finger-thick steel rods, let in a little yellowish light. Opposite it stood a wall of iron bars. Beyond lay a dim corridor, with a room much like his on the other side.
Green immediately realized this was a cell—and a heavily secured one. When he got up and touched the blackened bars, dense Magic Runes flared across them and knocked his hand back. A tingling pain stabbed through his fingertip, as though a needle had driven into it.
Green sensed that anyone below Formal Rank would have a hard time escaping this cell. For someone of Legendary Rank, it would depend on the individual.
