Inside the Anomalies Bureau headquarters in the capital of the Lorenzo Kingdom.
Three days had passed since Green went to the Eastern Sea to investigate the missing warships.
That morning, shortly after arriving at work, Green lounged in a leather armchair in the Director's assistant's office.
In Black Forest Port, he had learned about the Sea God's Sleeping Place and immediately seen an opportunity. He had sent word to Cyrabelle, asking her to tell Grand Duke Mora and find out whether he was interested. As Green saw it, the Sea God's Sleeping Place offered a rare chance for a warrior at Calamity Peak to advance to Saint Spirit Rank. Grand Duke Mora would surely be delighted to hear of it. He could use the three missing warships as a pretext to get involved, and after their last collaboration with the Divine Eagle Empire against the Holy Light Church, they ought to be able to claim a share.
To Green's surprise, Cyrabelle replied less than an hour after he sent the intelligence.
Her message was nothing like he had expected. She did not tell him to keep watch while Grand Duke Mora hurried over. She told him to drop everything and return immediately, without a moment's delay.
Green was baffled by the sudden order. Cyrabelle's reply made it clear, however, that it was Grand Duke Mora's decision. Green had to obey without delay.
Green sensed a hint of danger. He could not tell whether Grand Duke Mora knew something in advance or had judged the uncertain risks through wisdom and experience alone. Either way, Green had no urge to charge into danger simply because it was there. After a little thought, he decided to return to the Lorenzo Kingdom. The three warships and the missing Barbarian People would have to wait.
