"He waited until now to show himself? Or was he so far away that he only just got here?" Green spotted the red-bearded Dwarf who had suddenly appeared, and an odd look crossed his face. After a moment's thought, he decided not to turn back. Instead, he summoned the Death Angel from the Graveyard.
Wood Slater stood face-to-face with the Death Angel beside the carriage. When Green transferred his Main Consciousness into the Death Angel, Wood Slater noticed nothing unusual. He merely nodded to the Death Angel, then climbed into the carriage and began reading as if nothing had happened.
The Death Angel spread his metal wings and shot into the sky, heading back the way they had come. Besides the two longswords in his hands, a golden Short Sword floated behind him: the Divine Artifact Hundred Thousand Swords, which Green had seized from Archbishop Hiltonstin of the Holy Light Church.
Green had had no chance to use the Divine Artifact since acquiring it. This was the perfect opportunity to give it to the Death Angel.
After his upgrade, the Death Angel had reached the peak of Legendary Rank, with a combat rating of 9,999. He was only one step away from Calamity Rank.
But that final gap was extremely difficult to cross. For now, he could reach Calamity Rank combat power only by using Divine Power Crystals to activate [Divine Power Blessing]. Powerful as the blessing was, it consumed an enormous amount of energy. It was a last resort, not something to use lightly. Green had plenty of Divine Power Crystals, but not enough to squander them recklessly, so he came up with an alternative: Hundred Thousand Swords.
As a Divine Artifact, Hundred Thousand Swords provided far less of a boost than the Death Angel's [lv3] Divine Power Blessing.
