Green grew increasingly puzzled. By now, he was leaning toward the possibility that Duke Vra was not Number Zero.

Number Three had no idea how much useful information those few words had given Green. He narrowed his eyes slightly. Green had seen through his poisoning attempt, but he was not afraid. Even here, in the Anomalies Bureau's headquarters, Number Three was confident he could escape unscathed.

"I'd planned to take my time, but since you've come to me, you've saved me the trouble. Die." Green remained seated, his voice calm.

At the same moment, glowing Magic Runes spread across the walls, doors, and windows of Green's small office, instantly sealing the entire room into an isolated space.

Number Three frowned as a faint sense of foreboding rose in him. Still, he did not believe Green had the power to threaten his life. "Looks like you came prepared too," he sneered. "Do you think you can keep me here without anyone noticing?" A wild, twisted grin spread across his face. "Perhaps you don't know my true strength. He broke into another crazed laugh. His body changed into a mass of thick blood with no fixed shape and began spreading across the floor toward the office walls. He meant to cover the room and then engulf Green.

"You mean your numbers reflect your strength?" Green asked unhurriedly. "Then Number One and Number Two are stronger than you."

Number Three's laughter stopped. Hearing what Green implied, he cried, "What do you mean?" The spreading blood halted too.
