Venom Lord Wesker vanished, leaving behind a tree utterly drained of life.
The sirens and clamor in the distance grew louder. A few minutes later, a group of Clerics from the Holy Light Church arrived, led by an Archbishop. At the sight of the withered tree and the lingering traces of venomous Psychic Energy, the Archbishop's face darkened. "It was Wesker of the Death Council... Call off the pursuit."
"My lord!" a Cleric beside him cried, indignant and unwilling to let it go.
The Archbishop raised a hand to silence him. "This enemy is too powerful. Only Archbishop Platin, who guards the Holy Light Tower, can deal with him. Anyone else would be throwing their life away. You're all devout young men. You can do far more for the Lord."
"Yes, Bishop," the young Cleric replied. Once he had calmed down, they cleared away the remaining venomous Psychic Energy and left.
Late that night, a stray cat prowling through the park heard a sudden crack. A stone slab a few meters from the dead tree was shoved up from below. The cat yowled, its fur standing on end, and fled like a shot.
Golden Dragon Girl Arudika crawled out of the hole in a sorry state. She was covered in wounds. Her left arm had shriveled completely, nearly rotted away by Wesker's venom. A bloody hole beneath her left ribs still carried traces of Holy Light, while frostbite covered her back—the work of Frost Giant Akswaili...
Yet a smile appeared on the battered Golden Dragon Girl's face. Thanks to her Golden Dragon constitution, her injuries were healing slowly and her life was not in danger. In her right hand, she held a white orb the size of a baby's head—the Sphere of Faith!
