Fifty lashes could leave even a strong man half-dead. Someone frail might be beaten to death outright.
And there was no way to bribe or plead with Skeleton Soldiers and Zombies.
At the same time, government offices throughout the Undead Empire began issuing announcements. They made no mention of the Biochemical Virus, saying only that hostile forces had infiltrated the empire to spread disease and plague.
That finally stabilized the Undead Empire. Whether people believed it or merely pretended to, it was the only official explanation.
During this period, one nobleman who had migrated from the Main World got the foolish idea to incite a rebellion. He contacted some old associates, hoping to seize the opportunity to establish an independent Kingdom within the Undead Empire.
The outcome was predictable.
The Rebel Army, numbering fewer than three thousand, was quickly surrounded and wiped out. Everyone involved in the uprising was sentenced to hang. Including the nobleman, the participants, and their families, thirteen thousand people were hanged in the city center.
It was the first time Green had turned his blade on the subjects of the Undead Empire.
