Corpses and the abandoned church (2)

Those lunatics from the Nature Church—wasn't the uproar they caused at Minster Academy enough? Now, barely half a month later, they're stirring up wind and waves in Landon City again? Green wondered, deeply puzzled. The massacre of over a hundred students at Minster Academy had already made the Nature Church the target of everyone's wrath. By all rights, they should have lowered their banners and silenced their drums, waiting for the storm to pass before resurfacing. Why were they so eager to commit another crime and draw the Anomalies Bureau's attention?

At that thought, Green began to suspect that someone, or some organization, might be framing the Nature Church.

But these thoughts only flashed through his mind. Whatever hidden circumstances or truths lay behind this, they were unimportant to him. Only one thing truly mattered: finding the culprit who had dug up graves and stolen corpses. This was his and Lola's first case since joining the Anomalies Bureau. They had to handle it beautifully, preferably starting things off with a resounding success.

Green stood at the entrance to the abandoned church. Part of the main hall's vaulted ceiling had collapsed, allowing daylight to spill inside, so the abandoned church did not look particularly eerie. Green activated Death Spirit Sight, and his brows immediately furrowed. There were actually vast amounts of residual psychic energy inside the church! Unlike the corpse they had found, this scene had not been cleaned up at all. The other party seemingly did not care whether the Anomalies Bureau discovered the psychic energy traces here.

Meanwhile, Lola took out a small detection device and swept it over the church's interior, then told Green, "There are no active psychic energy fluctuations inside. There shouldn't be any hidden curses or magical traps."

Green nodded, but did not hurry inside.
