Green and Lola did not change out of their Anomalies Bureau uniforms to conceal their identities. They walked straight into Green Castle Manor. Since it was open to the public, rather like a private club, no one stopped them from entering. Besides, the manor was even more neglected than they had expected. Weeds sprouted from the cracks between the paving stones, and more weeds covered the roof of the main building. Its ancient, dilapidated gates made the place look especially desolate.
As they approached the manor's main building, a middle-aged man dressed as a butler finally came forward to greet them, his face wreathed in an ingratiating smile.
One look told Green that the man was no aristocrat's butler. He was probably a customer relations manager from some hotel. Though enthusiastic and perfectly courteous, he lacked the composure and reserve of a noble household's butler.
"Anomalies Bureau business!" Green said expressionlessly. Once again, he cupped his hands, and Psychic Energy formed a human face above them. "Which room is this person staying in?"
The middle-aged man dressed as a butler jumped in fright. The sight of Green and Lola's uniforms had already set his heart pounding, and now he was even more afraid. He hurriedly examined the face and nodded vigorously. "Th-this is Mr. Pan. He's staying in suite 202. Go upstairs and turn left."
"Mr. Pan? What's his full name?" Green demanded coldly.
The middle-aged man hastily opened the register on the counter. "Sorry, sir. It's Peter. Peter Pan!"
At the name, Green's eyebrows rose, and a chilling murderous intent flashed through his eyes. At the same time, Penny sensed something within the Graveyard space. She had been meditating, but her eyes snapped open, anger and hatred dancing in her pupils like flames!
Peter Pan!
Neither Green nor Penny
