Long Ye opened the "Personal Information" page and, sure enough, saw the newly added One-Star Devil ability.

His heart overflowed with uncontrollable excitement. He had finally obtained the Human Modification ability he had dreamed of, and he could barely resist the urge to transplant a Kekkei Genkai and test its effects.

"Human Modification has stages too? What exactly can my current ability do?"

Long Ye opened the "Ability Attributes" page, where an introduction to the ability appeared:

But clearly, the flaw of a Stage One ability remained. It could not last long and could only be used to flash-strike an enemy in an instant; it could not be unleashed continuously like the Body Flicker Technique.

Still, since there were stages, this ability would surely undergo further changes. The next stage might very well cover up the shortcomings of the first.

The sudden surge in strength gave Long Ye a little more confidence in the possible arrival of the Third Shinobi World War.

This Shinobi World War had not originally had much to do with him.

But he had no choice but to take part, because this war concerned the lives and deaths of too many people, including Rin and Obito.

While his mind wandered, the individual matches were still in full swing.

"Next match: Obito Uchiha versus Might Guy!"

Obito's spirits immediately rose, and his blood began to boil.

Now that he was facing this man again, Obito truly believed he had found his chance to wash away that humiliation. He could barely wait.

"Obito, go!!"

Rin waved her flag and cheered for Obito in the arena.

Hearing Rin's voice, Obito flashed a confident smile.

But Long Ye, standing on the platform, secretly worried for Obito.

Might Guy's strength was such that even Kakashi would not dare claim a certain victory against him.

That was because he possessed an almost self-destructive finishing technique: the Eight Gates.

After all, this taijutsu had created far too many legends.

"We should settle our score properly."

Obito stared at Might Guy and assumed a fighting stance.

"A score? What score?" Might Guy looked utterly baffled.

Obito's face darkened. "What happened during the team match? Have you forgotten what you did to me?"

"The team match?"

Might Guy still looked confused.

During the team match, his attention had been fixed on Kakashi, whom he regarded as his rival. He had long since forgotten about kicking Obito away with one blow.

"Damn it! You dare look down on me?"

Obito burned with rage.

"The match begins!"

The moment the examiner's voice fell, Might Guy charged toward Obito.

Guy's taijutsu had already reached the master level. Once he accelerated at full speed, his physical speed was incredibly fast.

Obito's vision blurred. Before he could even react, he was kicked flying.

"Ah?"

Rin, who had been vigorously waving her flag and cheering for Obito, froze instantly.

Kakashi also frowned deeply.

"Hahahaha, he really is the disgrace of the Uchiha! He lost so cleanly and decisively. Isn't that just too pathetic?"

"During the last team match, I thought he had only stumbled because he was careless. Looks like I was too naive."

Amid the jeers, Obito hunched over and staggered back to his feet.

"Obito?"

Rin looked at the boy in the arena, sadness flickering in her eyes.

"Obito Uchiha, are you sure you want to continue the match?"

Seeing how easily he had been defeated, the examiner had considered ending the match. But when he saw Obito get back up, he instinctively asked.

"Of course! The match has only just begun."

Obito slowly straightened up. At that moment, his left eye transformed into a One-Tomoe Sharingan.

Might Guy's face lit up with excitement. "I heard that the One-Tomoe Sharingan can see through a person's movements. Today, I'll get a taste of it..."

He dashed forward, spun, and swung his leg, unleashing the Konoha Whirlwind.

With his Sharingan activated, Obito could see every one of his opponent's movements clearly. It was as though he could predict the future, allowing him to evade the kick that could shatter stone.

"He dodged it!!"

Seeing that Obito had finally not been instantly defeated, Rin was visibly thrilled.

The two clashed in a taijutsu duel. Though Obito was evading most of the time while Guy attacked, the battle briefly reached a stalemate.

"As expected of the Sharingan. Before I can even execute my taijutsu movements, you've already seen through them. Next, I'll be going all out."

Even while attacking with both hands and feet, Might Guy still had enough breath to speak.

Those words enraged Obito. He had been going all out from the very beginning, yet his opponent had still been holding back.

"Don't look down on me. Today, I'll definitely defeat you."

Obito pulled back, retreating as his hands rapidly formed seals.

Might Guy did not pursue. Instead, he suddenly lowered himself into a half-crouch, as though wildly gathering strength.

Suddenly!

A powerful surge of air erupted from his body.

"Not good! He's about to use the Eight Gates."

Long Ye's expression changed drastically.

After a series of taijutsu attacks, Might Guy had been completely unable to do anything to Obito because all his movements had been seen through. He could only use the Eight Gates to break through his body's limits and gain greater strength and speed.
