Ye Mu naturally had his own pragmatic reasons for doing this.

A day and a half had passed, yet there was still no sign of the enormous Lantern Fish appearing.

This brought Ye Mu back to his senses.

It seemed he had still been thinking too simply.

Since they did not have pure gold, he had wondered whether a large quantity of ordinary gold might serve as a substitute.

Although he knew his idea was somewhat foolish, he still wanted to give it a try. Besides, perhaps that enormous Lantern Fish lived somewhere near Alchemi Island. If Tiger searched the sea, maybe he would find some trace of it.

But the result still proved that his thinking had been too simple.

So now, all he could do was hope that this old man, who had stayed here all along, could give him some sort of surprise!

At dusk the next day, on the island's shore, Enel sat beneath a parasol, staring listlessly at the golden fishing rod. Looking at Ye Mu, who was likewise watching the calm sea, he asked,

"Does this really work?"

Just then, Tiger sprang from the surface of the sea like an arrow and landed steadily beside Ye Mu and Enel. After shaking the droplets from his body, he said,

"Sorry, Captain. I've swum around the entire area several times, but I still haven't seen the Lantern Fish you mentioned!"

Ye Mu sighed helplessly.

"It seems I was still thinking too simply. But it doesn't matter..."

As he spoke, Ye Mu turned toward Baby-5 and Ayala, who were playing with a white puppy.
