Ryan knew nothing about what had happened at Marine Headquarters, Marineford, last night.
At that moment, Ryan was in his room carrying out his daily Breathing Technique training.
Ryan had discovered that whenever he killed someone, a trace of killing intent would linger around his body. Given enough time, that killing intent would fade away.
He had discovered this after getting started with the Breathing Technique.
Ryan instinctively felt that this killing intent might prove highly useful to him. Letting it naturally disappear would be too much of a waste.
During an accidental attempt, Ryan discovered that when he practiced the Breathing Technique, he could form an inexplicable pull with the killing intent surrounding his body.
The killing intent slowly entered his body, and Ryan continuously refined it until it was all absorbed into him.
Ryan made a rough calculation. He had refined more than eight hundred traces of killing intent.
As Ryan entered his training state, Kid and Killer simply stared at each other. The two of them were the only ones with nothing to do.
Beli had gone out to find somewhere to practice his physical skills. As for Lory, who was lying on the bed... well, she was a girl, so she did not need to train.
That left only the two of them with nothing to do.
Kid asked, "Is this why Ryan is so strong?"
Killer said, "Master Ryan looks so cool when he trains!"
Once he finished training, Ryan slowly opened his eyes, and a wave of killing intent radiated from his body.
It vanished without a trace in an instant.
Kid and Killer, who were close to Ryan, felt as if they would die the very next moment. Their bodies reacted naturally, and cold sweat immediately broke out over them.
Ryan smiled when he saw their expressions.
"Sorry, it's my first time refining it. I didn't control it properly."
Kid asked with lingering fear, "What was that just now?"
"Killing intent."
Huge question marks appeared over Kid and Killer's heads. Seeing that Ryan offered no explanation, they did not ask further.
"Master Ryan, when will you teach me swordsmanship?" Killer looked at Ryan expectantly.
"I told you, don't call me Master!"
"It makes me sound old. Just call me by my name."
"Okay, Master."
Seeing Killer like this, Ryan stopped bothering with him. He would think of a better way to solve the problem later.
Ryan looked at Killer, whose long hair was nearly covering his eyes, and an idea came to him.
"The most important thing for you right now is to buy two swords first. How are you supposed to learn swordsmanship from me without a sword?"
When Killer heard Ryan say that, he thought it made sense. How could he learn swordsmanship without a sword? He immediately grabbed Kid and prepared to get moving.
"Do you have any money?"
Ryan's words stopped the two of them.
Kid asked in confusion, "We're pirates now. Can't we just steal them?"
Ryan was speechless as he looked at Kid, who was just a little shorter than him.
It seemed that future Kid really would become a rather brutal pirate. Apparently, he had possessed such dangerous thoughts since childhood. Ryan would have to find a way to give him some ideological education.
Ryan immediately tossed a stack of money to Kid. "Why steal? Of course you pay when you buy something. If you want to rob someone, rob other pirates."
Kid's eyes lit up at that. "Right! Robbing other pirates is way cooler!"
"Ryan! Ryan!"
At that moment, Beli rushed in with two bounty posters in his hands. He called Ryan's name excitedly as he ran.
Before Ryan could ask anything, Beli handed the two bounty posters to him.
"We've got bounties on us, Ryan!"
Ryan unfolded the bounty posters and looked at them.
Berserker — Beli
Bounty: 30 million Beli
Berserker was truly a fitting nickname for Beli. With dual axes in hand, wasn't he basically a living Olaf when he fought?
A smile curled Ryan's lips, as if he had thought of something strange.
However, when Ryan unfolded the other bounty poster, his expression immediately changed.
Bloody Swordsman — Ryan
Bounty: 100 million Beli
"To hell with Bloody Swordsman! I'm going to Marine Headquarters to file a complaint!" Ryan cursed.
"Shouldn't a handsome guy like me be called the White-Robed Sword Immortal?"
Kid and Killer exchanged a glance. Killer whispered, "Isn't Bloody Swordsman pretty badass...?"
"If you like it, take it."
"Sure!"
Ryan was speechless.
Ryan looked at Beli and Lory, who were snickering nearby.
Forget it. No point getting mad at people who don't know how to appreciate it.
On an unnamed island in the New World, Shanks, who had three scars near his eyes, smiled at the bounty poster. "You've finally come, Ryan!"
The Red Hair Pirates' eyes immediately lit up when they heard that.
"We've been waiting for him to come challenge us! Hahaha!"
A newcomer who had only recently joined the Red Hair Pirates looked at everyone in confusion.
On the Grand Line, a man with hawk-like sharp eyes sat on a coffin-shaped boat drifting across the sea. Looking at the bounty poster, he said, "South Blue. Interesting."
The little boat changed course and headed for South Blue.
On the Sabaody Archipelago, Shyarly curiously looked at Rayleigh, who was drinking while holding the bounty poster.
"Is this your prized little disciple?"
"Yes! That kid moves fast."
South Blue — Baterilla Island — Mero Town
Carter stood on a table, holding Ryan and Beli's bounty posters as negative examples while lecturing the children below.
South Blue — Baterilla Island — Yunlai Town.
Gaban saw the bounty poster and laughed. "Bloody Swordsman is such an awful name."
Ryan said, "Exactly! It's awful!"
As Ryan's bounty poster spread throughout the world, Ryan's friends all learned of his news.
The little interlude quickly passed.
Then Kid happily took Killer along to buy swords with the money.
Ryan took Beli and Lory out to purchase supplies, preparing to leave the Goth Kingdom for their next destination.
What Ryan did not know was that two men were rushing nonstop toward the Goth Kingdom in South Blue.
P.S. There would be another update tonight.
