Holy Land - Mary Geoise.
Five individuals were discussing something in the council chamber.
"News of Pluton has surfaced on the vast seas once again!" an old man wearing a black suit, a head of white curly hair, and a scar on his left cheek said as he leaned on his cane.
"They will never find Pluton," said another old man nearby with two handlebar mustaches and a birthmark on his forehead.
"Yet this trend must be stopped," retorted the elderly man beside them, who sported a long white beard.
"Let the Marines handle it. We spend so much money on them every year, they need to do some work," the blonde old man stated, sharing his thoughts.
"What are your thoughts?" The four of them turned to look at a person sitting in a chair wearing white Taoist robes and holding a samurai sword. It seemed the four of them still cared very much about his response.
"Very well, but no moves can be made against the Nefertari family."
"Seconded."
"Seconded."
"..."
Just like that, five old men at the pinnacle of power decided the fates of many people in this brief meeting.
--------------------------------------Divider-------------------------------------------
Marine Headquarters - Marineford.
"Marshal Kong, what has happened this time?" Sengoku asked Kong, who was sitting in the marshal's chair.
Then he glanced at the slovenly appearance of the person beside him and could not help cursing in anger, "Garp! Act properly in front of Marshal Kong!"
Garp, on the other hand, replied, "Old man is acting very properly." With that, he turned his head away and picked his nose.
"Forget it, Garp. I am already used to this. Sengoku, do not put too much pressure on yourself," Kong comforted.
"I just spoke on the phone with the Five Elders. They want us to handle the situation in Alabaster. So I am planning to consult you two on who to send."
"Those five old fogies must be worrying about the Ancient Weapons again," Garp said with a tone of disdain.
"Garp!!!"
Sengoku was already on the verge of exploding. Recently, amidst the transfer of power, as he learned more and more secrets, the pressure had grown greater and greater, and he worried he was not up to the task of this position.
"Kuzan and I will make a trip."
Hearing Garp's words, both Kong and Sengoku were immensely surprised. Ever since the Pirate King Roger died, Garp had taken a vacation whenever he could, and as the Hero of the Marines, he was close to becoming a mere mascot.
Sengoku even felt a trace of gratification, thinking to himself, Garp finally knows how to care about me and help me share the pressure.
Yet he heard Garp say again, "I am quite interested in that little brat named Ryan. When I arrived, I heard Kuzan was planning to go to Alabaster to find him."
Sengoku: "..."
"Since there is nothing else, I will set off. By the way, Sengoku, why is your face so dark!"
Sengoku could no longer hold back, and he threw a punch at Garp.
"Vice Admiral Garp, I did not expect you to accompany me," Kuzan said excitedly to Garp as he followed behind him.
Garp said indifferently, "It is all because Philip told me that this kid has a heart of justice and suggested I had better bring him over to be a Marine."
"Colonel Philip? When I went to the Goth Kingdom last time, he did not mention this to me!" Kuzan said, puzzled.
"That brat is a former subordinate of mine. When he has matters, of course he comes to find me," Garp grabbed a handful of donuts and muttered while eating.
"Let us set off now. If we go too late and wait until we arrive, they will have run off again."
Kuzan still harbored resentment over not running into Ryan in the Goth Kingdom last time, having finally been so proactive with a mission, only to make a wasted trip.
After investigating last time, Kuzan discovered that his good friend Rong had indeed done things that shamed the honor of the Marines, but it was an undeniable fact that Ryan had killed his friend.
Moreover, Kuzan, who had been long influenced by Zephyr and Garp, did not believe that someone with such a strong urge to kill as Ryan could possibly be just. In the Goth Kingdom alone, no fewer than a thousand people had died at Ryan's hands, and one of them was even the king of a World Government member state.
Therefore, Kuzan had to see for himself what kind of person Ryan truly was to make Vice Admiral Garp take an interest in him.
With that, the two of them led a group of Marines and headed from Marineford toward Alabaster.
At this moment, Ryan had just woken up. After washing up and dressing, Ryan was just getting ready to do some stretching exercises when Kid rushed in anxiously, giving him a start.
"Captain, you are in the news."
Ryan looked at Kid with a puzzled gaze and said, "We have been drifting on the sea all this time, how could we end up in the news?"
"It is news from Alabaster," Kid caught his breath and continued.
Taking the newspaper from Kid's hand, Ryan began to read. In an instant, Ryan's face turned dark.
He saw the huge headline on the news: SHOCKER! The Bloody Swordsman Ryan declares he is certain to claim the Supreme Grade Sword!
Ryan angrily cursed at the empty air.
"This is slander!"
"He is slandering me!"
"Captain, are we not going to fight for it? If such bold words are thrown out and we fail to get it, it will be very embarrassing," Kid egged him on from the side.
"We will fight for it, we must get it!"
Actually, it was not just about saving face for Ryan; there was another, more important reason. If Ryan obtained the Supreme Grade Sword Yoru, which originally belonged to Hawkeye, it meant Ryan could change history through his own strength.
That way, Ryan could alter Ace's fate and Shanks's fate. This was an attempt by Ryan, an alternative challenge to destiny.
There was no need to hurry to Alabaster just yet. It would take less than a day to travel there from here if they hurried. Ryan intended to go to Rainbase first. If Robin was in Alabaster, the most likely place would be Rainbase, which was Crocodile's base of operations.
Ryan led the others to a tavern to drink and gather some information along the way.
No matter where one was, a tavern was the absolute best choice for gathering information. The people coming and going in a tavern were complicated, and one could say it was frequented by all sorts of riffraff. A tavern was also a breeding ground for public opinion.
Sure enough, the moment Ryan's group arrived at the entrance of the tavern, they heard people discussing him.
"Have you heard? The Bloody Swordsman Ryan says the Supreme Grade Sword is within his grasp."
"What Bloody Swordsman? He is just hyped up. A mere newcomer, what notable achievements does he have?" said a young man with delicate features.
"Exactly. He just killed a few Marines and got a two-hundred-million bounty. Most of you here have probably killed that many," someone chimed in.
At that moment, Ryan's group walked in. Someone with sharp eyes spotted them and fell silent, anticipating a conflict between the two sides.
The young man's companions also saw Ryan's group and hurriedly tried to stop him.
Suddenly, a wave of killing intent washed over them, making the blood in their bodies feel as though it had congealed, leaving them standing there frozen and motionless.
Inside the tavern, a man with two sexy mustaches narrowed his eyes slightly and could not help praising, "Such astonishing killing intent!"
The burly man beside him scratched his head in confusion and asked, "Really? Why did I not feel it?"
"You are not a swordsman, of course you could not feel it. There is a good show to watch!"
Seeing his companion break out in a cold sweat, the young man laughed loudly and said, "You are not scared, are you? Afraid of that pockmarked Bloody Swordsman?"
"What is wrong with having pockmarks?" a cold voice came from behind.
The young man blurted out without thinking, "Pockmarks are ugly."
Seeing that Ryan was about to get angry, Beli shouted loudly, "All idlers, get out right now! Hurry up, or you will not even know how you died."
Before Beli could even finish speaking, an extremely sharp sword intent radiated from Ryan.
In an instant, everyone in the entire tavern felt as though their bodies were exposed to endless sword qi, being continuously slashed apart by it.
"Say what you just said once more," Ryan's icy voice rang out again.
By this time, some people could no longer endure the torture of feeling like someone was slowly carving them up with a sword over and over. They screamed and bolted outside, and that single instant triggered a herd mentality as a crowd of people immediately fled. The large tavern was left with only a sparse few individuals inside.
They felt that staying another second inside was pure torture. Although Ryan's sword intent was not fatal, it was extremely agonizing and filled people with terror.
Finally realizing something was wrong, the young man turned his head around.
"Bloody... Bloody..."
When he saw Ryan's face, the young man was instantly scared out of his wits, and a stench of urine suddenly permeated the tavern.
Ryan naturally knew that when someone was lost in the moment bad-mouthing others behind their backs and suddenly saw the person in question, those with weak psychological resilience would react with shock.
It was just that the young man's reaction in front of him was a bit too excessive. Seeing this state, Ryan instantly lost interest, turned around, and said to Beli behind him, "You kill him."
Beli: "..."
"Kid, you go!"
"Killer, leave him to you!"
With that, Killer drew his blade and unhesitatingly slashed down upon the young man who was still frozen in terror.
The representative of keyboard warriors in the pirate world had breathed his last.
As Ryan's group walked out the door, they found a crowd of onlookers surrounding them, blocking their path so tightly that Ryan could not even get out. With no other choice, Ryan released his Conqueror's Haki, and in an instant, all the onlookers collapsed to the ground, unable to get back up.
With the path cleared, Ryan and his group swaggered away.
The man who had praised Ryan's killing intent earlier in the tavern sighed once more, "So arrogant!"
The burly man beside him chimed in, "He feels even more arrogant than Old Man."
