Silver Wolf was still browsing through the livestream chat with great interest.
Lines of text in every color kept flashing past her eyes.
Some were shocked by her performance in the duel arena, some were wildly guessing what class she had, and others had already begun discussing whether she was a player with some kind of hidden class.
Some had even started compiling details from her battle footage.
[How did she identify the real body?]
[She'd been deliberately holding back the whole time.]
[Is it possible she wasn't even serious?]
[Don't hype her up on credit. Wait until she fights the other ranked players.]
[No one knows just how strong Silver Wolf is at full power.]
As she read, Silver Wolf occasionally opened a few analysis posts.
Though much of it seemed rather superficial to her, the way players spontaneously discussed, analyzed, and argued over things made her feel strangely nostalgic.
They could even argue over a skill mechanic for hours. Sometimes there were old-school prison debates, server debates, and even the classic stacking-box power-scaling arguments.
After watching for a while, Silver Wolf's lips curled slightly. "Players are still so interesting."
Just then.
A friend message quietly popped up.
Sender: Berry Soda.
Silver Wolf raised an eyebrow.
"Um... is 'Leveling Up Alone' you?"
"Yes."
Somewhat puzzled, Silver Wolf opened Berry Soda's profile.
Then she saw the guild field.
[Strawberries Are Delicious]
Silver Wolf fell silent for two seconds. "What a coincidence."
She had only meant to play a casual round of PVP, yet her opponent had not only been a streamer, but also a member of the third-largest guild she had just been paying attention to.
The world really could be absurdly small sometimes.
Just then, footsteps sounded nearby.
Vernacular Poet had finally finished organizing the information.
Compared to when he had first started reviewing the materials, his expression was noticeably more serious now.
However, when he saw Silver Wolf browsing the forum, he quickly returned to his usual smiling expression.
"Hmm?"
Vernacular Poet glanced at the livestream interface in front of Silver Wolf.
"Why are you suddenly watching Berry's stream?"
Silver Wolf turned her head. "You're here." She closed the interface and looked up at Vernacular Poet. "How did the sorting go?"
Vernacular Poet walked over, instinctively glancing at Sunken Crow in the distance.
Only after confirming that Sunken Crow was still observing the surrounding environment did he speak. "Not bad."
"However, these materials should only be the database their guild has made public."
As he spoke, he paused.
"Like us, the truly important information is most likely still hidden in their internal files."
Silver Wolf nodded. "Did you find any leads?"
Vernacular Poet gave a bitter smile. "Wolf Venerable, I'm not an AI assistant."
"You can't expect me to sort through an entire database by myself, can you?"
"I only gave it a rough pass first, then sent it off for professionals to organize."
"We should get more detailed results in a few hours."
Silver Wolf blinked and said disappointedly, "I see."
Then she suddenly realized something. "I almost forgot. Platinum Courtyard is on your side."
Vernacular Poet immediately put on a helpless expression. "What are you talking about? I've always been on everyone's side."
After saying that, he casually opened Berry Soda's livestream as well.
The moment he entered, the screen full of discussion about Silver Wolf came into view.
Vernacular Poet froze for a moment. "What happened? In that short amount of time, you beat Berry into submission?"
"I gave it a try before coming here." Silver Wolf felt there was no need to hide it, so she briefly explained what had happened in the duel arena earlier.
After hearing it, Vernacular Poet fell silent for a moment before sighing. "I see. What a fateful coincidence."
Silver Wolf tilted her head at him. "Are you trying to use me to establish contact?"
Vernacular Poet stiffened, then gave an awkward laugh and slapped his forehead. "Ah! Wolf Venerable, you're right to remind me. Should I do that, then?"
"What do you take me for, some kind of leader?" Silver Wolf stared at Vernacular Poet with deadpan eyes.
Vernacular Poet coughed twice, then explained seriously, "Of course not—the people online are focused on your strength right now. They still don't know the world's true situation."
Silver Wolf paused. "Speaking of that, aren't you planning to reveal the truth?"
Vernacular Poet hurriedly shook his head. "We can't. Leaving aside whether anyone would believe it, people have made similar guesses before."
"Even if everyone believed it was true, extreme reactions like panic and longing would inevitably erupt on a massive scale. Besides, that existence would definitely stop it from happening."
Silver Wolf looked at him. "You're pretty considerate of everyone."
Vernacular Poet was silent for a while before speaking softly.
"After all, in reality, we're just insignificant people. Maybe we could only put what little we had left to use in an illusory world. But when the illusion became real, the real me caught up to the illusory me, and there were more things to worry about."
Silver Wolf blinked. "That was so roundabout it barely sounded human. Translate it."
Vernacular Poet explained awkwardly, "It means... we aren't as strong in reality as we are in the game. If the disasters from the game appeared in reality, we'd truly be powerless."
Silver Wolf looked at him. "Why does it feel like you left part of that out?"
"Did I? Hahaha."
Silver Wolf did not press him further, but she had already made a mental note of it.
Sunken Crow had been standing near the World Tree the entire time. He had not joined the conversation, merely silently observing the surroundings.
Vernacular Poet deliberately changed the subject and walked over to Sunken Crow. "Don't keep bottling it up. Are you still shy around Wolf Venerable?"
Sunken Crow stared at Vernacular Poet for a while before finally speaking coldly. "Nothing to say."
"That's a double meaning, isn't it!?" As he spoke, Vernacular Poet reached out, intending to pat Sunken Crow on the shoulder.
Sunken Crow merely shifted slightly aside, neatly and cleanly avoiding him.
The next second.
A light punch landed on Vernacular Poet. He exaggeratedly staggered back a step, then cooperatively cried out, "Aah~"
Silver Wolf stood nearby and watched the scene without speaking, but Vernacular Poet's earlier words kept replaying in her mind.
What he said just now definitely had something to do with himself. Could he have some terminal illness in reality, like Kawaba Mutsumi?
She narrowed her eyes. Looks like I'll have to dox you tonight.
After all, Silver Wolf was beautiful and kind-hearted, adorably tsundere, soft and wife-like, and her after-sales service was incomplete~
Silver Wolf gave Berry Soda's livestream one last look, then exited.
