Beside him, Hill chimed in casually, "Last time, Zhang Yang's Blessing Magic cost S.H.I.E.L.D. 1.3 billion."
Nick Fury: "..."
Hill: "And we had to replace more than three hundred of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s agents, from top to bottom. Another three hundred are still in the hospital."
Nick Fury: "..."
Hill: "Oh, right. We also replaced S.H.I.E.L.D.'s entire security system. Sir, you'll need to set a new password later."
Nick Fury: "..."
Damn Hill.
Did she have to bring this up now?
Nick Fury cursed inwardly.
He didn't believe Hill was merely reporting S.H.I.E.L.D.'s losses from last time.
She was warning him!
Warning him not to entertain any thoughts of taking on Kamar-Taj.
After all, that group at Kamar-Taj... oh, no. That group of gods was far beyond S.H.I.E.L.D.'s ability to handle.
"So we're supposed to let Kamar-Taj do whatever it wants?!"
He understood that perfectly well.
But as the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., he couldn't afford to lose his air of authority.
He still had to make the proper official noises.
"Kamar-Taj may not have attacked Earth outright, but you've seen the problem. They keep frightening people and creating phenomena like this!" Nick Fury said sharply, his expression grave.
His already dark face grew darker still.
"You're the only one who's frightened. People in New York City seem pretty excited to me. Twitter and YouTube are blowing up," Stark said as soon as Fury finished.
He was looking down at his phone.
Before Nick Fury could reply, Stark went on, "Dragons are trending all over Twitter and YouTube. People are excited. They say dragons are auspicious signs in the East, which means something good is coming to New York."
Stark shrugged and kept scrolling through his phone.
His tone was just as casual.
That laid-back attitude made Nick Fury's expression darken further.
*Me,
