Background / History

Thor was initially the proud crown prince of Asgard and sought permission from Odin to travel to Midgard and destroy Rimuru, whom he believed to be a demon blessed by Cyttorak. Odin rebuked him, reminding him that a future king should not seek war recklessly. 106

After being banished to Earth and stripped of his divine power, Thor became remorseful and believed his arrogance had caused Odin’s death and endangered Asgard. He developed a relationship with Jane Foster while under S.H.I.E.L.D. observation, but remained desperate to reclaim Mjolnir and return home. 121 125

Odin chose Rimuru to guide Thor in kingship. Rimuru forcefully humbled Thor, challenged his passive interpretation of Odin’s teachings, and made him confront the consequences of his earlier pride. Thor regained his divine power and accepted Rimuru as his master. 119 123 124 125
