Under Heavenly Dao Hongjun's precise control, the power of the tribulation clouds affected only the two of them, causing no harm to the other members of the Human Race.
After all, the Primordial World was a place governed by karma, and the Heavenly Dao should all the more abide by it.
Zhunti and Jieyin shared tremendous karmic ties with him, so even killing them would pose no problem.
But if he killed members of the Human Race who had no karmic entanglement with him, he would violate the rules governing the Heavenly Dao's operation.
If he committed too many such violations, the hidden Great Dao might manifest once more and punish the Heavenly Dao.
Within the heavenly dao tribulation clouds, Heavenly Dao Hongjun manifested.
He gazed down at Zhunti and Jieyin as they fled frantically below.
The fury in his eyes grew even more intense.
Just as I thought, those two treacherous disciples had long since gone over to the Human Dao!
As Sages whose essence was entrusted to the Heavenly Dao, they should have been subject to his means of taking control of them in an instant.
Yet just now, when he had tried to activate those means,
he had suddenly discovered that, at some unknown point, the two had silently neutralized the measures he had put in place.
Those measures had been established by him personally; clearly, Zhunti and Jieyin could not have neutralized them on their own.
Only an existence equal in standing to him, such as the Human Dao, could have done so.
