[February 7, 2026: Tomato, oh Tomato—after getting sent to Little Black's room and coming back out, I still haven't been given any major promotion. The traffic keeps dropping. Is my book some kind of spirit in the Biyun Set? Why is it so unwelcome? Can't even fulfill my humble wish of dying through poor writing?]
The year was 2026.
A City.
Class 1, Grade 11.
Ding-dong, ding-dong...
As the final note of the dismissal bell faded, most of the students flooded out of the classroom amid the screech of desks and chairs scraping across the floor.
At the last row of seats, Molly slowly stuffed her textbooks into her backpack.
This was her third day after transmigrating into this world.
Three days ago, on the street, a truck emblazoned with the words "Da Yun" had charged toward a little girl as if out of control. Seeing that the girl was about to be hit, Molly had hurriedly shoved her aside and saved her.
But the next second, Molly had been sent flying. The world spun before her eyes, and when she opened them again, she was lying on a bed covered with pink sheets, with a whole set of memories that did not belong to her now in her mind—
They belonged to an eighteen-year-old high school girl named Molly. She had a younger sister in middle school. Their parents had died young, and the two sisters depended on each other. Molly had to rush home every day after school to cook, or her sister would be stuck eating instant noodles.
Thinking back on all this, Molly felt deeply moved. She also reflected on the fact that boys' bodies and girls' bodies were completely different things.
On her first day after transmigrating, with the mindset of "when in Rome, do as the Romans do," she had thoroughly explored this body from the tips of her hair to her heels.

With her backpack on, Molly had just reached the classroom door when she heard several girls whispering around the corner in the hallway, their voices thick with fear.
"Did you hear? Lin Weiwei from the class next door has disappeared too!"
"Really? That makes two already, doesn't it? Didn't a senior girl from Grade 12 fail to go home last week?"
"The police haven't found anything either. I heard even the surveillance cameras were broken... Do you think a Monster Demon did it?"
"I don't know..."
The rest of their conversation gradually faded into soft, broken gasps.
Molly paused.
Monster Demon was a keyword that had recently begun appearing online.
In the original owner's memories, this world was no different from the modern society of Molly's previous life. Skyscrapers rose everywhere, and traffic flowed endlessly. The only difference was that there were some inexplicable monsters here, called Monster Demon—savage and bizarre creatures.
However, those were only rumors circulating online. The authorities had never stepped forward to confirm them.
Her heart skipped a beat, and a fine layer of cold sweat rose along her back.
Two missing persons cases, and both victims were girls. That was too much of a coincidence!
Could it be some perverted rapist-murderer...?
Molly did not go over to join the discussion. She merely tightened her backpack straps, softened her footsteps, and warily swept her gaze around. Only after confirming that there was no suspicious figure nearby did she quickly leave the school gates.
The setting sun stretched her shadow long, and orange-red light spilled across the road. It looked warm, but Molly felt tense all over.
She did not take the main road. Instead, she turned into a small alley that served as a shortcut—
Few people used this alley, but it could save her ten minutes. She could get home earlier to cook for her sister, and besides, it was a route the original Molly often took home.
As Molly walked forward, she suddenly kicked something, producing a crisp clang.
She stopped and looked down.
A Deep Blue bead lay on the ground, about the size of a walnut. Intricate patterns were carved into its surface, as though it had been cast from some delicate metal. Though its edges were somewhat damaged, it still gave off an exquisite, valuable air.
The dim sunlight fell over it, refracting tiny gleams of light. It was quite beautiful.
Molly crouched down, picked up the bead, and weighed it in her palm.
It was heavy, and its texture was strange. It did not feel like plastic, nor did it feel like an ordinary stone.
"What is this? Who dropped it here?"
Frowning, she was about to lean closer and inspect its patterns when a sudden change occurred.
The Deep Blue bead abruptly floated up from her palm, hanging in midair as though pulled by an invisible thread.
Then it began to deform at a visible speed. The patterns flowed and rotated, while its originally rounded shape gradually stretched and unfolded.
With a click, it turned into a Deep Blue ring and slipped precisely around her right wrist.
An icy sensation instantly spread throughout her body. Molly was so startled that she nearly jumped. She instinctively tried to pull the ring off, but it seemed to have grown onto her wrist and would not budge.
"What the hell?!"
She gasped, her heart pounding as if it would explode.
Before she could react, a warm current suddenly surged from her wrist into her body, racing through her limbs and bones.
A burst of white light exploded before her eyes, so dazzling that she could not open them.
When the white light faded, Molly blinked and looked down at herself.
Her school uniform had vanished, replaced by a pure white dress. The hem reached her ankles, and the fabric was as light as clouds.
She raised a hand to touch her hair. Her shoulder-length short hair had somehow become waist-length white hair, draping smoothly down her back with a faint sheen.
What shocked her even more was that a sword had appeared in her hand at some point.
A Broken Sword.
Its blade was silver-white, covered in chips. The guard bore the same patterns as the ring on her wrist, while the hilt was wrapped in black cloth strips. It looked terribly worn-out, like something picked out of a garbage heap.
"A magical girl?"
Molly blurted it out.
She had watched plenty of anime. This outfit, these accessories—this was totally standard magical girl gear!
But the next second, she deflated.
She tried to activate the so-called "magic," silently chanting "flame" and "water flow" in her heart. The ring on her wrist did not react at all, and the Broken Sword in her hand merely hung heavily, without even a flicker of light.
Good news: She had picked up a magical girl Transformation Device and successfully transformed.
Bad news: She could transform, but she had no magic.
The corner of Molly's mouth twitched. Just as she was about to complain about this goddamn cheat, a translucent panel suddenly appeared before her eyes, floating there like a game interface.
\n[Proficiency Panel] Running: Tier 1 1046/10000 Writing: Tier 1 1592/10000 Drawing: Tier 1 305/10000 Miner: Tier 1 100/10000 ...
The panel listed all kinds of skills, each followed by a progress bar.
Molly's eyes lit up.
Was this the real cheat?
Why worry about having no magic? As long as she farmed proficiency, she could level up and grow stronger. If she trained to max level, maybe she could even smash monsters flat with this Broken Sword!
