"Hisss!"
The Tentacle Demon shrieked in pain, its roar growing ever more shrill.
Its ball-like body writhed frantically as its remaining dozen or so tentacles swept toward Molly like a raging storm.
The tentacles were covered in barbs and carried a foul-smelling gust of wind. A single careless brush would likely scrape the flesh right off her bones!
Molly's gaze sharpened. Her footwork shifted as she darted between the tentacles like a phantom.
She pushed Fourth-Tier Basic Swordsmanship to its limits. Silver light flashed from the Broken Sword, every slash precise and ruthless.
"Splat!"
"Splat!"
Several more tentacles were severed in quick succession.
Dark green venom splashed across the ground, corroding it with sizzling sounds and sending wisps of black smoke into the air.
The Tentacle Demon's movements grew slower and slower, and its presence weakened by the second.
Seizing the opportunity, Molly leaped into the air and landed atop the Tentacle Demon's head.
She gripped the Broken Sword with both hands, pouring all her strength into it before bringing it down savagely!
"Boom!"
The Broken Sword plunged into the Tentacle Demon's body with the force of thunder!
With an earthshaking blast, the Tentacle Demon's body exploded, spraying dark green fluid everywhere.
A purple-black flash streaked through the air, and a palm-sized Monster Demon Shard fell to the ground.
Molly landed and flicked her wrist, using the Broken Sword to lift the fragment.
The Miasma on the fragment was rapidly purified, turning into a wisp of black smoke that dissipated.
Then, a stream of pure White Soul flowed into the sword.
"Done."
Molly turned to look at the two Defectors.
The tall, skinny man and the short, fat man had long since gone weak in the knees. They sat collapsed on the ground, their faces as white as paper as their whole bodies trembled.
They never could have imagined that this delicate-looking magical girl would be so strong!
She had effortlessly slain even a level-ten elite Monster Demon. The two of them were hardly enough to fill the gaps between her teeth!
Molly walked toward them step by step, her silver hair drifting in the wind, her eyes cold as ice.
"This is the price for trying to fool me."
As her words fell, cold light flashed from the Broken Sword.
Before the tall, skinny man could even let out a scream, his body turned into a wisp of black smoke and vanished.
All that remained was a shriveled black protective suit.
The short, fat man was scared out of his wits, nearly wetting and soiling himself.
He dropped to his knees with a thud, desperately kowtowing as he cried and begged for mercy.
"Spare me, ma'am! Please spare me!"
"I'll never do it again! Please let me go!"
Molly stopped and looked down at him. Her voice held not a trace of warmth.
"Take me to your hideout, and I can consider sparing your life."
How could the short, fat man dare refuse? He immediately nodded like a pecking chicken.
"Yes, yes, yes! I'll take you there! I definitely will! I'll do whatever you tell me to!"
He scrambled up from the ground and led the way ahead, trembling all over.
Molly followed behind him, never putting away the Broken Sword in her hand.
She would not easily trust the Defectors' words.
If he dared try any more tricks, she would not mind giving him the same fate as his companion.
The two walked through the alleys, twisting and turning for more than ten minutes.
After passing through a cluster of rundown residential buildings, an old-looking housing complex appeared before them.
A weathered sign hung at the entrance, bearing four large, crooked characters:
[Cock Property Management]
A Defectors dressed in a black security uniform stood at the entrance. He held an electric baton in his arms, warily scanning the surroundings.
When he saw the short, fat man and Molly, he immediately frowned and barked.
"Stop! Who are you?"
The short, fat man shuddered and quickly lowered his head. He forced out a fawning smile, his voice trembling.
"Big bro! It's me! I'm Little Black!"
"This is the... the girl I captured, and I'm bringing her as an offering for the boss!"
The security Defectors' gaze immediately landed on Molly.
A flicker of amazement flashed through his eyes, quickly turning heated as he brazenly swept his eyes over Molly's face and body.
His gaze was lewd and greedy.
Suppressing the disgust in her heart, Molly lowered her eyes and pretended to be a frightened, flustered girl.
The security Defectors said,
"You can go in, but we have rules."
"You need to answer a question correctly before you can pass."
The short, fat man hurriedly nodded.
"Go ahead, go ahead!"
The guard said,
"Cough, cough... listen up!"
"There's something that needs to be aimed at a hole when you use it."
"Once this thing reaches a certain point, it'll keep making noise."
"If you use it for too long, water will come out of that opening."
At those words, Molly's mind buzzed.
Her cheeks instantly turned bright red, and a storm of emotions surged through her heart.
Aim it at a hole?
It keeps making noise after reaching a certain point?
If it goes on too long, water comes out of the hole?
What... what kind of filthy talk was that?!
Could it be that?!
Molly's thoughts became a mess, and even her heartbeat began to race.
She secretly glanced at the security Defectors' sleazy face, becoming even more certain of her guess.
This Defectors was shameless to the core!
She coughed twice and forced herself to say,
"But... it won't necessarily leak water, right? That depends on the situation."
The security Defectors immediately nodded.
"That's right! Not necessarily. It depends on the person."
He added a few more clues.
"This thing comes with a warranty card and an instruction manual!"
"And it's controlled by a switch! Most importantly, it needs to be plugged in when used!"
Molly: "???"
The blush vanished from her face in an instant, replaced by utter confusion.
A warranty card?
An instruction manual?
Controlled by a switch?
And it needed to be plugged in?
Could it not be what she had been thinking of?
Was it electric?
But even an electric one did not need to be plugged in, did it?
Molly's mind was completely scrambled. She was utterly baffled and could not follow this Defectors' train of thought at all.
Seeing Molly's bewildered expression, the security Defectors laughed smugly.
"What? Can't answer it?"
Just then, the short, fat man blurted out,
"It... it's an electric kettle!"
The security Defectors smiled and nodded.
"Correct! It's an electric kettle!"
Molly: "!!!"
Her cheeks flushed red again, but this time it was not from embarrassment. It was from sheer awkwardness.
She had gotten the wrong idea!
So he had been talking about an electric kettle!
You aimed it at the opening of the kettle, it kept whistling after the water boiled, and if it boiled too long, the water overflowed...
It was such a simple thing, yet her thoughts had gone somewhere so improper!
Molly wished she could find a crack in the ground and crawl into it.
She secretly glanced at the security Defectors and found that he had not noticed anything unusual about her. Only then did she breathe a sigh of relief.
The security Defectors waved his hand and said impatiently,
"Alright, alright! Go in! Remember the rules, and don't wander around!"
As though granted a pardon, the short, fat man repeatedly bowed and thanked him before leading Molly quickly into the housing complex.
The moment the two entered the complex, the security Defectors' expression darkened.
That was because their little question-and-answer exchange had been a secret code exclusive to the Defectors!
It meant that an enemy had infiltrated the place!
He took a walkie-talkie from his pocket and lowered his voice.
"Reporting, sir. A magical girl has snuck in..."
From the other end of the walkie-talkie came a sinister voice.
"Understood."
