"Azu, come on! Help me hold off the ninja ahead. Sanada, get out between us! We'll stop these Sand Shinobi."
The Sand Shinobi Captain gave a cold chuckle. "You two think you can stop our squad? Don't be ridiculous."
In the blink of an eye, a long blade pierced Azu's chest. Blood gushed out, soaking his clothes.
Azu struggled to turn his head toward Sanada behind him. He forced a faint smile, showing bloodstained teeth. As Sanada hurried backward, he looked over and met Azu's gaze.

Sanada heard him coming. When he glanced back, the captain was already right behind him.
"Sanada, run! I'll stop him!"

"You're out of your depth. I'll finish you both today."
The captain turned and thrust his long blade at Amu, driving it straight through his abdomen.
Blood sprayed from the wound. Sanada had watched two comrades give their lives for him. He stopped retreating and stood frozen as images of Azu and Amu flashed before his eyes.
To Sanada, the world fell silent. All he could see was Amu
